There are No Ordinary People. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations – these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub and exploit – immortal horrors or everlasting splendors. This does not mean that we are to be perpetually solemn. We must play. But our merriment must be of that kind (and it is, in fact, the merriest kind) which exists between people who have, from the outset, taken each other seriously – no flippancy, no superiority, no presumption.
– CS Lewis, The Weight of Glory
In the spring of 2014 we commissioned 15 incredible artists & friends of ours to design 15 limited edition posters based on the theme: No Ordinary People.
On Saturday, March 15, 2014 we held our first annual Lazarus Print Show Benefit in collaboration with Jeff Guy of Twin Kittens Gallery. An edition of 30 of each of the 15 posters was screen printed by hand on archival paper by David Broughton of Baron Press. The full edition was on display in the gallery & offered for sale at the benefit.
It was a benefit to help support our mission, but also a way to use creativity and art to expand the vision of what it means to care about your fellow man and believe in kinship.
