Super Bowl Party & Chili Cook-off

Our Super Bowl Party & Chili Cook-off was a hit!

On Sunday, February 11, we got together with our friends experiencing homelessness in Atlanta and had a blast!

The turnout was great, the chili was abundant, and the game was an instant classic as we gathered at Safehouse Outreach.

The room was buzzing with excitement as 160 guests and volunteers came together for a fun evening. Our friends experiencing homelessness moved through the chili line, getting multiple servings of the delicious chili that our volunteers had prepared. The competition for the chili cook-off was fierce as every chef brought the flavor. Many of our guests commented how tasty all of the chili was and that “everyone was a winner!”

The fun continued through the night as we hung out and watched the drama of the game unfold. Close to 40 of us stayed until the end to see the Chiefs pull it out in overtime.

Events like this strengthen the trust and relationships that our weekly teams build on a consistent basis among our neighbors on the margins.

We’re so thankful for all of our volunteers, our chili cook-off contenders from Immanuel Anglican church and Trinity Anglican church, and of course our friends at Safehouse for hosting and making this event possible. It was a great night for our community!
