Fun times at our Spring Party

We had an amazing turnout for our Spring Party on Sunday, April 26th, as 270 guests and 73 volunteers gathered for a fun afternoon together! The sunshine was abundant, our hearts were filled, and it was a great time with our community.

Most of our guests received haircuts, manicures, showers, and foot care thanks to the hard work of our volunteers in those areas. You could see the pride and gratitude on the faces of our guests afterwards. One guest, Telicia, said, “It feels so good to look and feel better again.” Another gentleman, Darius, commented after his haircut that “I always feel like a new man after a haircut.”

These simple acts of service are powerful as they help restore dignity and confidence to our friends on the streets. Many others registered to vote and signed up for SNAP benefits which will have a positive impact going forward.

Our favorite moments were seeing guests and volunteers engaging with each other - playing games, eating and hanging out, praying together, kids on the bounce houses, and lots of folks dancing together. That was our hope and prayer - that everyone present would feel connected on this fun afternoon.

We are so thankful our guests brought such joy into our time together. Even in the midst of the challenges they face and overcome on a daily basis, our unhoused neighbors showed up ready to participate and interact with everyone.

We are also grateful for our volunteers and partners who welcomed our guests with kindness and hospitality. This posture reflects the heart of Lazarus and impacts lives far beyond the event. Thank you to North Avenue Presbyterian Church, Atlanta Mission, Harriet Tubman Foot Clinic, Operation Kindness, South College, Wholesome Wave Georgia, Atlanta NAACP, Heard Entertainment, Feet on the Street Ministries, Urban Enterprises, PC&E Atlanta, Trinity Anglican Church, and Immanuel Anglican Church.

We also want to thank Sarah Harms Photography for capturing so many of the meaningful moments from the day. Click here to see all of the photos from this fantastic day with our community. We look forward to next time!
